Etna Tours FAQ

Reach the mountain meeting point specified on your tour page independently in your own rental car. We do not provide transfers or hotel pick-up.

Guiding requirements depend on the current measures for the route and date. Check the applicable official restrictions; there is no permanent altitude rule covering every visit. Our excursions include an authorised guide and remain subject to conditions.

Monti Sartorius welcomes children from 5, Cable Car & 4x4 from 6, the 2002 Craters from 7 and Summit Craters from 12. Choose according to the fitness and terrain requirements on each tour page.

Difficulty ranges from easy scenic walks to intense summit treks. Each tour page includes duration, elevation, and required fitness so you can choose the right level.

Bring layered clothing, hiking shoes, wind protection, water, and sun protection. For high altitude, add warm jacket, long pants, gloves, and a bandana for volcanic dust.

Cable car and 4x4 tickets are not included in the private guide price. Where required by the route, they are paid separately on site per person.

If weather, volcanic activity, safety restrictions, cable car or 4x4 closures, or summit altitude limits prevent the booked route, you choose an alternative route where practicable, a new date or a full refund.

Choose one of our four private excursions: Summit Craters, Cable Car & 4x4, 2002 Craters or Monti Sartorius. Online booking for up to 6 people; larger groups are possible on request.

For up to 6 people, choose a date on the tour calendar, enter your group size and pay online for immediate confirmation. For more than 6 people, contact us before booking. Cable car and 4x4 tickets are not included in the private guide price. Where required by the route, they are paid separately on site per person.
