Etna summit craters trekking highlights
Embark on the tour commencing at Piano Provenzana – Etna Nord.
Hop aboard a 4×4 bus (mandatory, not included, payment on-site €50 per person for the return trip) to ascend from 1800 meters to 2900 meters, reaching Piano delle Concazze.
Commence your trek towards the summit of Mount Etna from this point. The trekking route involves a 500-meter elevation gain and typically spans approximately 2 hours.
Upon reaching the summit craters, marvel at the landscape adorned with yellow and white sulfites, witness the smoke emanating from the summit crater, and observe the solidified black lava.
Standing on the brink of the active Etna volcano’s summit crater provides an unforgettable experience.
Following this unique excursion, trek back down to Piano delle Concazze at 2900 meters.
Conclude the journey by taking the 4×4 bus back to Piano Provenzana at an altitude of 1800 meters.
